What the Pro's are Saying

Overall, although it's still initially harder to get to grips with than some rival 'EQ ripper' utilities, I still prefer Harbal, with its more considered approach to improving the final sound of an audio track, the detail of its manual and tutorials, and its helpful on-line user forum hosted by Har-Bal's professional mastering and research engineers. It's a serious tool that can teach you a lot about why your mixes don't sound like commercial tracks, at the same time as improving them.

FAQ's

Apparently there is no Macintosh version of Har-Bal. When, please!!?

Out of historical reasons HarBal was developed under a Win32 platform using our own application framework. For this reason porting to iMac is not a trivial issue.

It is true that portable GUI frameworks are reaching a state of maturity that could help us with making HarBal cross platform portable but such a switch is not easy and there will undoubtedly be problems.

For these reasons We do not think that we can have a Mac version out for at least 6 months (unless there is a demand) but we are certainly committed to supporting the Mac and Linux platforms. We apologize for any inconvenience.
