How come I can't load MP3 files into Har-Bal?

At present there is no support for MP3 files. It is unlikely that support for MP3 will be introduced in the near future for a number of reasons. It is a proprietary format that requires payment of royalties should an MP3 encoder be required; it is already catered for through third party tools and CODECS; and it is a lossy format that is best avoided for a source file format prior to harmonic balancing. An integrated MP3 support will be provided through the Windows Compression Manager and third party CODECS.

How is the 'key' provided to unlock the software? Is it specific to the computer you download or order from? I use a separate computer for music, with no internet, and need to transfer the software onto that. Are there discounts on future upgrades?
It has a key bound to the license holders name only. It does not use hardware fingerprinting so you can install the software on more than one computer but you should only use one copy of the software at any one time, otherwise you are in breach of the license.
Some upgrades (minor improvements and bug fixes) may be free and the remainder will be discounted to take into account your previous purchases.
