Har Bal 2 video

Postby ictustwin on Tue Jul 10, 2007 2:29 am

I just got this and am still confused as how to use HarBal. The tutorial on it has the guy using ALL the coloured lines on it. Earle told me he only uses the yellow ones. What do I do then? I think the video needs watching again on my half as it was only about 20 minutes long and too quick. Earle, Paavo, if you can do 'another' video for me too watch that would be cool. I dont like reading manuals as I am better at being shown, lol believe it or not. Just one thing guys, correct me if I am wrong here, but this is my way of thinking in HarBal:

I record my track in my music app, get it sounding as good as I 'think' sounds good.
I call my trackup in Har Bal.
I see there's peaks that need straightening out (straight away I have no idea of what peaks needs moving about as the track sounded ok in the first place from my music app.)
I load up a pro recorded wav (as it says in the video tutorial)
I move MY tracks lines near enough over the lines of the pro recording. (which did not sound good, trust me)

Basically, is Har Bal a graphic equaliser??? (Might seem a daft question guys.) I still need help as I really want to get into it.

Andy :(
