Just resent the link to you. I also uninstalled my copy and re0nstalled from the link and it is correct. Can you check the folder you are downloading the program to. When you download the setup.exe file right click on it and the modified date should be 3-22-07

Cheers

Just downloaded the new 2.3 rev 2 from the link provided... when i have installed and gone to the help/about it is saying Version 2.3 revision 1, same as i already had.
Is it still rev 1 on the link ????? and not rev 2. ??

Laney,

Have a look at the HarBal.exe file time stamp (ie. in explorer find the file and then right mouse click and properties). If it reads 02:30:02 then it is release 2, if it reads 02:30:01 then it is release 1. The splash screen and about box still say rev. 1 because I didn't make the change to the right include file to put that in. To be honest, I didn't bother as I know I'll be creating a revision 3 within the next month to resolve compatibility issues for Windows Vista. I believe you have the correct version.

Regards,

Paavo.

Thanks for the new version. I'm doing electornic / club music myself for living and I am thinking how I could benefit from the new feature of Har-Bal (empathetic equalizing) In the tutorial pdf all the example tracks are songs with real instruments and you speak the process in relation to the instrumentation (guitar, bass, vocals) used in the track. Most of the electronic / dance music is about synthesized sounds with little or no resemblance to traditional instruments.

I get good results with inuit-q + some minor tweaking but I've yet to get good results with empathetic equalizing, I guess it's just matter of learning :). It would be great if you included some examples of matering/re-mastering some electronic tracks too! Just an idea :)

Synthetic Sounds

Hi Sami ,

Yeah , they generally differ ... If piano/keys pads there's often deep , closely spaced peaks/valleys ... If drums/reso basses often a single ( or few ) , big peak (s) ...

You might prefer the approach here ....

Hi Sami,

I'm all for learning about the limitations and possible variations to the ideas behind Empathetic EQ so I would be greatful if you could email me a track or two (mp3 ecoded) of typical works you are having difficulty with so that I could try them out myself. Any insights I get I'll happily furnish to you.

Thanks,

Paavo.

PS - If you could keep the file size to 5MB or less it would be good. I'm only on a dialup and a rather slow one at that.

I didn't receive an e-mail for the V2 version - and would be grateful for it.

I've come on here because I've just had to revert to the 2.3 Beta from the original 2.3 release - the final release puts glitches all over Adobe Audition 32-bit WAVs making them unusable, something which is not a problem with the Beta. Has this been spotted and fixed in Release 2?

Aha - just spotted that it does! :D
