Sort of sounds like the way Gigastudio works. I guess you would sync HB to MTC (Midi Time Code) or something, and the audio in HB would have to be timestamped obviously so Har-Bal knows when it starts. Interesting idea...

Think of it like any other acoustic instrument, in that the instrument has it's own resonating chamber where the fundamental frequency (or frequencies, in the case of say a piano or guitar) can interract with the overtones to produce a composite sound or resonance. The vocal resonating chambers are ...

I generally call it parallel compression but I would still deam this a portion of the pre-mastering process. Let's not loose site of what mastering actually is defined as. I definitely think there are times where this is advantageous but I would label this as mix post processing rather than stating...

I've had a good chance to try IntuitQ for a while now, and my general observation is that it seems to like to cut 1k-5k a little too much for my taste, and once in a while it will go crazy around 100-200 hz and boost too much - mostly on tracks that have no heavy percussion or drums. Sometimes thoug...

The mid and tweeter are off to the side (and I have them positioned like in the picture - with the holes on the inside of the pair). JBL hasn't marked either as L or R, and the documentation I have doesn't specify that either. I think you're right, I'm going to have to experiment with positioning an...

ventilation holes ?
Hi - This may sound like a ridiculous question, but I can't find any info on it whatsoever... I have a pair of JBL 4410's (positioned vertically w/ woofer on bottom). What side should the ventilation hole be on ??? Right now, as I have them, the holes are on the inside (see http://www.8thstreet.com/...

Re: Mixdown
Hi all, could somebody please help me, ive read in this forum that it is a good idea to mix down at -6 db, I was wondering if i could pull the master fader down in a 24 bit recording as opposed to mixing the tracks to make sure the highest peak is -6db, the only thing is i have heaps of volume auto...

linear vs. minimum phase
I'm curious as to what is the recommended setting for use on a whole mix vs. individial tracks ? I really don't fully understand linear phase vs. minimum phase... I seem to like the minimum phase setting in HB better on most everything. Can someone point me to a good reference that explains what the...
