Re: Any news about next version

Me, too! I haven't visited the site and board in a while. Lots of changes! Version 3 sounds like it will make a great product even greater! Can't wait! :)

I use BOTH Har-bal and Ozone when putting the finishing touches on a tune. Har-bal for EQ adjustment, and Ozone for nailing the final volume. So the order is Har-bal, and then Ozone. I'm glad I have em both. I also have a lot of the Voxengo stuff, which is very useful as well.

Interesting comments. My opinion is that everything EQ-wise that might define a song's "genre" should be arrived at in the mix (at the track level especially) prior to arriving in Har-Bal. Har-Bal then provides the final touch up. I don't think I've ever used Har-Bal to radically change th...

I read all of the above. I agree that the vocal shouldn't "jump out too much". Another check I do is to do a mono check to see how the vocals sit in the mix. I'll temporarily set my master bus to mono instead of stereo. I suppose this amounts to the same thing as turning the volume up and ...

Re: about loudness...

I guess it's a matter of waiting it out until everyone comes to their senses and realizes that a competition over loudness should no longer take precedence over the quality of music. Until that time, yes, one has to do what one has to do to stay in business, I won't argue with that!

about loudness...

I hope everyone has read the various pages on the web dealing withthe pitfalls of trying to make one's music "too loud". It's the "loudness race". I used to be in that race because I didn't know any better. After doing some reading I'm no longer trying to get -12 dB average RMS b...
