Har-Bal Mix Function
Hi guys. Id like to thank you again for such a great product. Its a pain in a way because i can hear rogue frequencies in everything i listen to now and im not happy until ive put it through har-bal. I have an idea. I tend to play too much with the filters. I end up doing a good job but sometimes i ...

Might be cool if we used it as an opportunity to learn and compare instead of finding a winner if we were to go ahead with it. Might be cool to try single instruments as well. I know ive produced amazing results on individual instruments. And in other cases, if we have access to the actual mix. See ...

Is anyone here interested in a situation where by a mix is uploaded and several of us download it and create a filter with Har-bal and compare the results. I know the ituit Q is great but i think most of us still do a little tweaking after the fact and this might be a good way to take it to another ...

Re: When is enough......enough?
I downloaded the free software. Then selected the worst sounding Recording we've done{Mix-wise}. There were Peaks & Valleys everywhere. I've done several Har-Bal tweaking variations, which by the way all sound better than the original. It seemed like I adjusted just about everything from beginn...

No. After the release of 2.2 the code base will be frozen and I'm going to be switching on to the task of re-writing Har-Bal for the future. That is our priority and it is a big job so there is little hope of any VST tools for years. Sorry to dissapoint you but plugins are a low priority because of...

David, Can't name names but I have read in the forum of people tackling bass guitar issues in the same manner (among other things). Your line of thinking is absolutely correct. It is much better to deal with the major EQ issues prior to and during mix-down rather than after the event. Please do so ...

Re: When to Dither
From what I've been taught the Dithering comes at the very final stage before rndering the CD. So, my questions is, up to that point my file is 24 bit. Is harbal 2 reading in 24 bit or crunching down to 16 bit? Should I combine the mon files before HarBal or use them seperated? Usually my steps are...

Hi. I would stay the hell away from protools Le for many reasons. But with the current pc you have if you are not in a position to be able to upgrade your pc you will find yourself =running out of power very quickly with Pt Le You need to find a daw that allows for track freezing as pt le does not p...

There's nothing on the immediate horizon. I have plans for a number of things which require significant restructuring of Har-Bal. As such I don't envisage a beta for at least 3 months or so. Tentatively, I'm thinking of: 1) Mid-Side Eq processing. 2) Improvements to IntuitQ plus tools to apply intu...
