'Too much congratulations can lead to lack of perspective so talk like that usually makes me cringe'.

The 2.3 version

I think it would be useful if we could have a trace of 1 octave resolution behind the 12 octave resolution, so that we can keep in check the flow of the original spectrum.

Sorry, i almost forgot: In the tutorial, you mention at the end chart comparison, that although the spectrum looks completely different ,ALL the troughs are still where they originally were.; However they are not ALL where they originally were, only MOST of them. How is this? Sorry, but im a bit los...

The new 2.3 way of eqing

Hi . Ive just installed 2.3 and ive just finished the advanced tutorial. Im wondering: > On the cuts and boosts, are you always holding down M for 100% Q? >Are you listening to it while doing these wave corrections? >How to know how far to go in terms of cut and boost? ... >How you have the IQ to co...

Can i TUNE my room by using HARBAL and an external eq??

Hi , Last week i spent Ł500 and bought a new mic, the C414 XL. Its great!! I use this mic in my hallway and record acoustic guitars/vocals/etc, since the sound in my hallway has a nice openness with very high celling. The main problem though is that the recordings are still sounding muddy and im spe...

Can we draw the graph in??(with a pencil tool?)

Hi all,

I was just using harbal and thought it would be great to be able to easily draw the graph. I know that we can use the q width, but can we manual draw the graph in? This would be great.

Hi Paavo,

Yes, the vocal track was stereo miced, then i applied impulse responses on it in cubase.
So individually, the track could have more than 20%? Or should i just use air on the final mix?

Thanks

Using AIR near 100%?

Hi all, I remember that in the original tutorial video, earlie tells us that he personaly only uses air at about 20% max-ish. Ive exported a finished vocal track into harbal , and am happy with the eq adjustments ive made. Im now adding air, and to me the vocals sound good with a lot of air(60% and ...

45HZ low shelf steep cutz or boosts??.!

Hi all, Im confused about the 45hz and below content when using Har bal. Earlies original video tutorial (i think its earlie), points out that much of the energy below 45hzish is sub sonic and it only holds the potential volume of the track back, (since bass energy is extremely powerful.) He shows h...

When u guys say 'roll off' frequencies, do u mean high pass or low shelf (or low pass/ high shelf)??? I get very confused about this still; its one of the major things i havent worked out yet, after 4 years of learning!!! Dohh The other thing is side-chaining. I kinda understand what it is, but how ...

Yea, we recorded some vocals in the bathroom too. Very nice atmosphere, but had a nasty resonance to the room for load vocals..might be better for soft acoustic guitar

Hi Guys,

How about the functionality of 'soloing a small moveable freqency band so that we can find that frquency problem area quickly? That would help knowing where to inuitnull tweak etc. You could make this audition freq band wiider and thinner by using keyboard buttons.

Please :)
