Thanx. No, the mixes usually sound good even when there are these peaks in the mid range. As i said, i'm used to make good eq on each track during mixing process than rather make great adjustements on the mix. The reasons that brought me to the question are: 1) Scanning the spectrum of commercial s...

It's not a BAD thing that there are peaks in the midrange due to your vox tracks. I'ts perfectly alright, i mean it may LOOK bad, but it's all about, does it "sound" bad? Music is supposed to have loud parts and quiet parts remember, don't get caught up in the "visual thing" list...

Re: Thanks more!

Thanks, For sharing your experience with me. First I thought it was my personal physical/mental condition making me hear things wierdly. I quit working on one tune because the sound got worse and worse. I really beat myself up over that too! On this tune the way I became sure it wasn't me is that I...

There's nothing on the immediate horizon. I have plans for a number of things which require significant restructuring of Har-Bal. As such I don't envisage a beta for at least 3 months or so. Tentatively, I'm thinking of: 1) Mid-Side Eq processing. 2) Improvements to IntuitQ plus tools to apply intu...

Hi Ged, Thanks, had a good break for Easter. I don't doubt that higher resolution has it's uses for a small number of recordings. I just don't think it is as large as you might think. The other problem with higher resolution is knowing where to apply it. That is obtainable with higher resolution in...

Re: cubase sx 3

HI and thanks Ged, I called the company and they said it is possible that my files are corrupted, based on the fact that the sound is so totally different upon export even to two inside cubase sx 3 even the volume level is not consistant. This is only the second song I've been able to make in cubas...

Re: Is it me or is it cubase sx3?

Hi plus Happy Easter! Finnally my computer and software and sound solution all work together, I make a song and I swear it just sounds sooooo different in cubase sx3 than any export even to it's own self from it's self! Anyone else with this problem and what can be done? Thanks for the advice. Trin...

[quote="HarBal"]Yep, at some stage I will most liekly increase the analysis resolution to 1/12th octave instead of 1/6th. Not likely to increase the filter resolution much higher than it is though (for 44kHz sampling) as I don't believe there is much to be gained from that. Certainly my li...

from 1/6th to 1/8th or even 1/10th???

Would it be possible in future updats of Harbal to increase the resolution of the eq filter and spectrum??? I imagine that this would be a hard task, but have noticed that HARBAL sometimes misses certain peaks/troughs due to its resolution (1/6th i think?) I feel an increased resolution would drasti...

It depends on how bad the track is to start off with. If you have to make big changes to get it into line then you probably what to EQ it before compressing but if it is close to where it should the difference between either approach is probably not going to be very significant. I'm sure earl has s...
