Now it's okay.

Har-Bal on Windows 7
Hi Paavo,
My new computer comes with Windows 7, and I would like to know the compatibility issue of Har-Bal with it. Do I have to 'tune' anyhting for Har-Bal?
Thanks in advance

Re: M/S processing with Har-Bal
Hi Paavo,
Great to hear that new version will have M/S capability as well! I will have checked that post once again. Looking forward to experience the new version soon.
Best regards

M/S processing with Har-Bal
Hi Paavo and Earle, For the possible future update plans of Har-Bal, I would like to propose one thing: Har-Bal might have M/S (mid-side) processing capability. For instance, a stereo mix can be analyzed and converted into its M/S components inside the Har-Bal. Then we can harbalize those two sectio...

MusicTech Focus magazine Mastering issue
In March 2009 issue of MusicTech Focus magazine's Mastering issue, Har-Bal is mentioned (page 72) with the title of "Honing Those Frequencies. Assessing and adjusting loudness and EQ using Har-Bal". It's a really good issue with useful content and tips (http://www.musictechmag.co.uk) Kursat

Re: Any news about next version
Another possibility that I've catered for in the design proposal is controlling errant peaks in a track. The spectrum analysis has information in it that will allow you to quickly locate the time segments that are responsible for particular peaks in the peak spectrum trace. With that time selection...

I was thinking about getting an Aphex 204 or BBE 882. I already have the BBE Sonic Maximizer plugin (DX) that I use in Sonar. Should I get either of the above hardware to enhance some tracks or master a mix; or should I wait until BBE creates the D82 Sonic Maximizer http://www.bbesound.com/products...

Hi Paavo, In the coming new version, feature of 64-bit internal processing would be great I think. Also by using emphatetic EQ technique, I really obtain much better sonic results than usual intuitQ option. If emphatetic EQ approach is also emphasized/featured more in the new version, that would be ...

Hi Earle, I recieved my Aphex 204 last week, and started to experiment with it throughout the week. 8) It is verbally hard to describe how it contributed to my works but, my impression is that it amazingly enhances the low frequency/bass regions and harmonics with a depth, clarity and brightness, as...

Re: compression issue
Kursat You are spot on but let me throw in a few more considerations. RMS Sensing -Absolutely Auto Attack - No - This is where you can control the thickness of the song. It is better to make this adjustment manually using the ears. Auto -Release - Yes - Because most of the time it is sensing the in...

compression issue
Hi Earle, During the mastering phase, for sure it depends on the material but, generally speaking; after correcting the spectral content of the mix with Har-Bal, is it more preferable to use a soft-knee compressor with a gentle overall compression ratios such as 1.1 to 2, threshold set around 20-30 ...

Re: masking
.... My advice is this: If you are attempting to de-mask and you it is plainly obvious go back to the original mix and make the correction. Cheers Earle Thanks Earle. It seems that after balancing the spectral content of the mix with HarBal, possibly it's better to use a wideband compressor instead...

masking
Hi Earle, Waves LMB compressor features an adaptive de-masking process which seems not available in wideband compressors, and other multiband comp's, to my knowledge. Is there a particular technique for dynamic de-masking purpose by using a wideband compressor after harbalizing the track, or is it r...
