Thanks Paavo.
It's version 2.3 r.3 on a newish Win7 machine.
It's been running fine though. Till now.
Just, out of the blue started not working.
I don't use any virus scanner as my DAW is not interneted. (wow, a new word)
Thanks

har-bal died
Hi guys.
I went to use Har-bal today, edited a wav, hit play and it (har-bal) just disappeared (closed).
I was able to save the tweaked wav (_eq) but the program just died when I tried to play the file.
It's been working. But, all of a sudden, it doesn't.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Tim

install instruct 2.3
Hi. I'm Loading up a new computer (win7 64bit)
I installed HarBal2.0 (I think that's the version). Then, I noticed I have a 2.3 ver 3 file.
Do I need to uninstall 2.0 to install Ver. 2.3 version 3?
Any special install instructions? Or, just run the exe?
Thanks

Paavo, I thought your spectrum analysis showed my room as being bright? Big spike around 5K. Yes? My consol is in the middle of that wall. The picture may be off. To move it anywhere is not really possble. I can barely even walk into the room now there is s much junk. I mean tables and tape decks an...

hi
Hye Paavo, Wow, thanks for taking the time on this. I'm kind of at a loss as to what it all means and what to do about it though. Some kind of (additional) room treatment is definately in order. On the magnitude side of your charts it says 10X db. Am I to assume that means that from 0 to 1 is 10 db?...

Hey Paavo, Thanks for the response. Yes the reference is a direct print of the pink noise generated by a Panasonic DA7 console. And, the source is that pink noise played thru both speakers (haflers) with a Rhode mic at listening position in omni mode. I would say near field (triangle). Maybe 3 feet....

Hi,
I tried out the analization using pink noise in my mix position.
Here is a pic of room over direct (ref).
http://www.geocities.com/tim_33431/pinknoise.jpg
Is this pretty bad?
Can you tell me what do I do now with this info?
Thanks,
Tim

"Perhaps a case of damned if you do or damned if you dont. " It appears that the online video tutorial is "damned if you do" and the tutorial that comes with the program is "damned if you don't". I am a new user of Har Bal and I think it is wonderful. It has really ope...
