Re: Let's Talk

You missed my point, which was having to press the mouse button WHILE you type ctrl-S. The holding down the mouse button part just feels unnecessary. Ah well, here I beg to differ. The point of having to hold down the mouse button at the same time is one of accuracy. The most accurate way to find t...

Re: Let's Talk

Hmmmm... I still think it's unnecessarily complicated --- because it works against the (Windows) standards. The power users will eventually get it, I'm sure, but I think there's a learning curve there that you could well avoid with doing things more "Windows-like". Windows interface stand...

Re: Let's Talk

The navigation between sections must be a one-clicker. There are two bars visible, why don't you let the user to go from one section to any other instantly. Paavo said earlier that is it so difficult to click twice and I say yes, because a) the designated button is microscopic and, more substantial...

Re: Possible Bug

I rendered a wave file (44.1k/16bit) and noticed that some of the right side had spilled over to the left side. The right side had no spill over. I only used the L/R filters with no compression, Air or M/S filters. I tried rendering multiple times with the same result every time I can't seem to rep...

Re: Let's Talk

Hi Jyri, No need for appology. I didn't take it offensively. It helps to be clear about the details and now that you've added some I can see your point of view and the value of some of your suggestions. What was missing in the earlier post was the detailed suggestions. As to the splits not allowing ...

Re: Let's Talk

I find the GUI slightly counter-intuitive. It's too IT-tech-geek-y. I was actually hoping for a totally new GUI for the #3 but I guess that may change in the future. J Curious response and I think you'll be bitterly dissappointed! Mastering is "techincal" and any attempt to master without...

Re: Let's Talk

Hi Karl, I don't quite follow what you mean. I'm having problems opening rendered files in HB 3 (0961). Does that mean you rendered a file with HB3 and you cannot open the rendered file with HB3? If that is the case, can you send me the file. If you do can you make it a relatively small file (say < ...

Re: Let's Talk

Thanks for letting us know. I'll check it out as soon as I can.

I guess I've never noticed it cos I've never actually used L and R filters independently.

cheers,

Paavo.

Re: Let's Talk

I know where you're coming from!

Being one who suffers from (mild thankfully) chronic sinusitis, I experience a great variability in the quality of my hearing, though it's sometimes hard to say no.

cheers,

Paavo.

Re: Dynamics Processing

Has your track got a long period of silence in it? I suspect it has and this is the origin of the peak. If you have long silences in the track (that are a significant portion of the track length) then you will get peaks in that location. In most popular music your not likely to see much here, though...

Re: Let's Talk

A number of crash issues including the mono file one, the temp files appearing on the desktop, drop file support, persistent screen size and position, shortcut keys for selected spectrum and constraint key for adjusting dynamics nodes. The shortcut keys for the spectrum is to press and hold down the...

Why is HarBal 3 slow at updating filters?

If you are a Har-Bal 2.3 user used to playing a track real-time and making and hearing Har-Bal filter changes in near real time you'll probably be wondering why Har-Bal 3 is so slow at updating. Well, it isn't because the code is slower but rather what it has to realise is much greater. The detailed...

Re: Let's Talk

Hi Andy, Yes, the air in HB3 is more subtle than in HB2.3 and it works by a different mechanism. HB2.3 air is essentially just stereo expansion through mid / side processing. If the source is mono air will do nothing. In HB3 air is implemented using cross coupled (ie. stereo) Haas zone (less than 50...

Re: Let's Talk

The Undo redo implementation is not ideal but likely to stay that way for the release. I don't have many ideas on how to implement it in a better way at this point in time anyway so time is needed to get a better handle on it. That said, my inclination is to leave it as is for a while and make impro...

Re: Let's Talk

That would be the 2GB (.hba file size) file size limit in 32 bit builds. When I make a 64 bit build that problem should go away. For 32 bit build versions I should put in a check on this and stop you from loading it. Personally, for this version I wouldn't recommend processing an entire album as one...
