Synching Har-Bal

Paavo and Earle, Anymore thoughts and/or considerations as to having Har-Bal synch to an external source (i.e., MTC)? I used HB to EQ a upright piano along with a full track today. It's a hit 'n miss to manually synch but I can get it close enough to 'play' with the EQ to hear the piano along with t...

... now if one could sync HB to an external source. Yes, I can run HB, on a second computer, sorta like an external VST or efx device. I can transfer, for instance, a bass track from Pro Tools (on my Mac) to HB (on my PC). I could use multiple HBs if there was a way to sync them. Or, even just one w...

Paavo, If you're like me, you'll make the time to listen to these soon-to-be releases: Beatles' 24-bit remasters . If these are anything like 'some' of the sneak-peeks from Anthology, we're in for a real treat. Since every tape/take was archived, the 'original' takes were utilized - instead of the '...

I've done a few 'dance' tracks with a Swedish singer. We liked the 'air' setting at 50% on the entire mix.

I've been using Har-Bal on drum stems.

I do a lot of drum replacing with Drumagog. I also add a subtone (sine tone) with the kick.

Har-Bal helps keep the super-lows under control. And, balances out the overall drumkit sound within an album project.

Any progress on a 'synchable' version of Har-Bal?

You need to be more specific in what you are asking. Mixing bass is purely subjective and dependent on the bass part (i.e., a featured aspect of the song - such as the Beatles' 'Rain'). As far as mixing in a 'sine' wave/tone... be careful and use less than you think. I usually mix in a smidgen with ...

Are you looking for for the fundamental frequency (in Hertz) for a given note? Such as the low 'E' on a bass guitar is 41.203 Hertz - assuming that you are using 'A' = 440 Hz. AND an equal tempered tuning. http://mysite.verizon.net/res8o1o8/frequency_files/image004.gif Keep in mind that, just becaus...

I'm not following this one.

If I have a color picture and I take out all the colors except red. What will this tell you?

I believe you need to hear everything together and work on the relationships of the frequencies.

"Guess it'll also mean the PT7 issue will need to be fix as Zumbido uses a Digi rack I believe! " NO! I use Har-Bal on a PC. My PT Mix 24 (ver.5.1.3cs11) is on a Mac G4 - OS9. I send out sync, from PT, to the PC and run Cubase, Melodyne, BFD, DrumTools and GS3. It'd be nice to also sync u...

Seperation Mastering... hmmm. Sounds like yet another way to pump up the cost of mastering. I do Har-Balize (is that a word?) individual mono and stereo tracks. This is why I requested that Har-Bal have the ability to sync to an external source. I could HB on the fly with the rest of the tracks. Whe...

Simply open up your 'mixed.wav' file.

It should sound EXACTLY the same if you have the audio routed correctly within your computer. You perhaps have an inferior sound card.

If you work Har-Bal correctly, your mix WILL sound better.

If you are using RME's TotalMix , you sholuld be able to observe if anything is being sent to your soundcard or out of it. What you have described sounds as if another application has taken priority of one of the banks/outs. Try selecting a HIGHER pair within Har-Bal. I use outs 11 & 12 (second ...
