Re: Any news about next version
Hi Paavo, After reading the above (several times, because on first reading, most of it went over my head higher than a Boeing 747  ) I can understand why it is taking a while. I have a few comments and questions to follow. By doing time based analysis it allows for the ability to arbitrarily pa...

Any news about next version
Hi, Just wondering if you are looking to get a Beta version of the re-write out this year, or, as I suspect with doing such a drastic code re-write, is it looking to be next year before something is available ? No rush, rather have something good than quick... :D I guess I am just curious as to how ...

Re: Lol! Gosh Earle what did you do?
@ tcatzere If I read your post right, I think you have your understanding of compression the wrong way round. As an example of compression settings, here is how they work in relation to ratios: If we have an input signal above the Threshold setting, say 4dB over the Threshold setting for example and...

I get what your talking about Paavo. I guess that people do not expect a 30 day return policy on software (Thank Microsoft and others for that: open this packet and it's yours, don't come crying to us if it doesn't work  ) I have been perfectly happy with Harbal from day one of purchase, way ba...

Discussion about Harbal at KVR
Hi Paavo/Earle There has been a discussion over at KVR about various Mastering/Eq software and Harbal was mentioned. It was also mentioned that there does not seem to be any kind of demo available to try anymore...is that the case ? I have had a look around on the site and couldn't find a demo but, ...

Hi Andy, At it's most basic explanation: No matter which colour of line you are adjusting, the others will move to some degree also. The Yellow is the Peak energy content of the track you have loaded and the green is the average. So, for example, if you adjust the Yellow line at a particular frequen...

Slot for a VST effect before final output
I know that the VST side of this fell by the wayside because of complications, however, I was wondering if it would be possible to have a VST capable slot avaliable just before the final output (kind of like a mini host built in to Harbal in a fixed place just before final output). The reason I am w...

Hi Paavo, Thanks for the usual speedy reply. At present I do split the files into sections, process them and then rejoin them by crossfading in my wave editor (I have previously requested a way of splitting the file and morphing the balance between sections within Harbal - you said that it was somet...

Any more info on 1/12 octave resolution
Hi Guys Are you still planning on getting the 1/12 octave resolution update out this month ? I'm kinda holding off doing anything until such time as this arrives, well, that and morphing over time for large wave files... I'm working with previously recorded files from the 70's and 80's with lo...

Yeah, I had a bit of a further look into it as well. Managed to track down the drivers on the manufacturers sites: The Ribbon will only safely go down to 2500Hz and the Bass is actually classed as a Bass/Mid. The main reason for the higher crossover seems to be because of the Ribbon Tweeter and not ...

Hmm. I did kinda wonder about the crossover point being that high myself. I think I'll email them to try and get more info regarding the crossover point. I've also found one or two other companies that do similar kits, so I guess a bit more research is on the cards until I finally decide. Thanks for...

Transmission Line speakers
Hi Paavo, I'm thinking of getting a Transmission Line speaker kit for my HiFi. Do you have any experience of this type of cabinet and if so, good or bad. The company I have in mind are UK based (as am I) and seem to be pretty good at what they do. I was thinking of getting something in the New Year ...
