Don't understand...

No it doesn't. The peak figure of merit is the area under the peak aggregate spectrum (yellow trace). It can be bigger than 0dB because you are taking the loudest parts of the spectrum and putting them all together when in reality they are occuring at different times during the entire track and not...

average -14.55db peak 1.25db

I'm averaging about 35mins a track just now but i'm not wanting it to sound like i'm rushing the process.
cheers.

a good technique that i think works every time for is to use har bal as a "corrective EQ" e.g bring down some obvious peaks etc, low shelf the severe low end circa 30 - 40hz, you now have a balanced track to work on. Then now you may want to add a little "colour" to it, so using ...

Compression before or after Equalisation?
Hi Earle, was wondering how you chain eq and compression? normally for me it's > EQ > comp but recently have had great results with > Comp > EQ. I've been testing this because i notice how compressing after eq,ing can change the freq balance, especially when compressing the low end or de-essing high...

weighting curve
Just wanted to know what type of weighting curve HarBal uses to analyze the audio or display in the spectrum? and why this type of curve is the most useful?
