Also to go more into your question about if you should EQ up certain frequency ranges... That won't do anything because of the way radio processing works. The only thing it might do is cause your limiter (if you're using one) to over-act on that range... Now in some cases that can be a good thing. Y...

I found another great broadband brickwall limiter. It's not as transparent as Voxengo Elephant, especially on the treble transients, but for some things it just sounds better, especially if you aren't working with stuff that has very loud or very linear treble transients. Crysonic Spectra'Phy http:/...

I'm not sure why you are getting clipping, unless you're using the "clip" mode. ;) I've never experienced any clipping with the default settings i posted, at any input gain. Paavo, I do agree about the stereo imaging problems this can cause. If I ever "need" more than 2-3db RMS l...

It's not so much the dithering I think he would like to disable as much as the option to enable/disable the mixing in of the high-frequency bias noise. But I do have a question of my own to add, and that is.. if I'm using a 24bit INT source, does Har-Bal process the file with more accuracy and then ...

I feel like mentioning that even if you had a tool to convolute 31 "bands" of values from the "frequency response" view in Har-Bal, it still wouldn't be able to compensate for the unique phase-shifts introduced by your analog EQ. That effects the final "sound" of the EQ...

If you really want maximum peak volume and/or maximum RMS volume... as transparently as possible... I recommend checking out Voxengo Elephant. I've done some testing against a bunch of other leading digital limiters, and Elephant just blows them all away. Even Waves L2, which is respected by some of...

my mastering chain First I will do a transfer from analog if needed. At this point I add 1sec silence to the beginning & end (or cut each track to that) and will run any noise reduction if needed. I use Adobe Audition v1.5 for all of my cuts & fades. Version 2.0 (at least the demo) seems to...

Here's the anl file I used: (right-click, save-as) http://ictybtihky.com/harbal/anlfiles/ideal_curve_1.anl After trying it on about 20 tracks now, it doesn't seem to always get close to greatness with 1 click of the intuitMatch, or just one selective swipe of the intuitMatch cursor... but i've found...

Interesting about your comment on MB & Har-Bal. IDT DVP anyone? ;) So yeh, I'm working on a reply to the mastering chain thread as I type. I'm also going to post a tutorial on how to use the intuitMatch & intuitCursor features with a special "ideal" spectral response curve that I h...

I hope he uses Har-Bal more & more, with his ears (and gets more accurate gear)... Then he will eventually realize that ALL power for mastering of the spectrum to make it "transport" well lies in EQing. It's disgusting that he even mentions multi-band compression. Other than for specia...

I just thought I would add, for the benefit of your sanity Michael, that you can switch which of the currently enabled EQ filter plot lines (peak/mean/average) your shelving/parametric cursor is "focused" to when adjusting by... holding down the left mouse button to make an adjustment, the...
