harbal low-pass limiter question a la 20 Y.O.
howdy So I've been listening to Janet Jackson's new record. Aside from the fact that I don't like the overall eq on the tracks (they sound puffy, bottled up, and my ears get tired verrry quickly), it sounds like they used a low-pass limiter in mastering and reminds me of what I get when I push the H...

meta-normalizer?
hello,
does anyone have any experience with Wavelab's "Met-Normalizer" processing? From what I read online, people either love it or hate it...It sounds like a handy tool for matching RMS levels, but is it too good to be true? Thanks!!!

seemless track splitting?
hello, i'm trying to figure out what kind of program would allow me to burn tracks with seemless track changing to a CD so there's no pause or click (i.e. like an intro or interlude that blends into the following track without any silence but needs to be a separate track number on the CD player...th...

i actually recently discovered the PSPMix Pack...all the stuff in there is fun to play with but the Saturator is the only one i really use...it sounds incredible...Fills out the bottom, warms it up, gets rid of any nasty stale low midrangey crap...You need good monitors in order to hear which freque...

quick question
hey, i have been importing some tracks, after mastering, back into harbal just to look at the spectrums and test some things...I've been noticing that a lot of the tracks have new peaks (shown by clicking the ^ button). Does this mean I'm doing something wrong in mixing or mastering? I've tested a b...

Earle, Your reaction to the track has made my year :) I'm really glad I'm doing everything right now, I guess the problems I was having had to do with not compressing the tracks correctly in the mix... In regard to the file you sent back...The sound is huge, vocals are crystal clear...Can I ask what...

Earle, I was finally able to send the song...My apologies for the delay... I use a lot of mutliband compressors in mixing and I realized that my Q and Knee values were too low/soft...I think that's been at least part of the problem...I remixed the tracks again and they definitely sound better but im...

earle, ok so i thought i was in the clear but i just spent two days trying to master half the tracks...they sounded pretty decent on the krk monitors, good on the headphones, but then on car stereos and a dance rehearsal hall system it sounded pretty horrid... after shelving the eq's of each instrum...

quick question about the new har-bal/intuitQ
ok, just a quick question... after hours and hours of experimenting i've decided to use the waves L3 (after some light multiband comp) over numerous other limiters because it seems to retain the most overall punch and clarity.. i was noticing however that i was still getting distortion in spots on t...

Cool, ok I got the plugin file...sounds pretty good with the analogue sound but the preset doesn't get it very loud...I tried a threshold of about -5.8 with an aggressive setting on the L3 following the T-racks and this sounds much better I think...although still not quite thick and full enough...bu...

"Newbie" Questions - LinMB, T-racks, L2, L3
Hello, I am a newbie har-bal user and I've spent the past day studying the posts to learn as much as I can. I just have a few additional questions (If I missed these answers somewhere, please forgive me!)... Question 1: So I've read in several different places you guys refer to using the waves linea...
