Red Book Duplication Q

Post by doogle »

High guys.
I thought one of you guys could help.
I am trying my hand at mastering a few demo Cd's for some students.
I have just received a Cd/album to do which requires duplication.
What software do i need to buy to create a Red book Cd.
Also does Redbook include everything a Cd-r requires to send off for duplication
such as pause id's TOC's and so forth.
I need to be clued in a bit here please guys. (am i missing anything)
Also do you mastering engineers out there error check the Cd afterwards.
Say i burn a red book Cd, is this sufficient to send off for duplication.

Thank you

The term Red Book simply refers to the CD-DA format which is what all cd players use. Just about all CD burning software packages burn cd's to Red Book standards.

You may be familiar with Nero or even Adaptec.

The CD normally holds 74 minutes of music
Up to 99 music tracks
Sampling 44,100 hz at 16 bit.

Error correction usually takes place while the cd is being burned. Remember this: The lower the CD speed you use the less chance of buffer overuns.

cheers
