How To Protect My Tweeters??

Post by Derrick »

Hello, I have two PA cabinets for my band's singer, each with a 10" woofer and a dual piezo tweeter horn. The woofer is rated at 8 ohms with and without the tweeter. I don't know a lot about piezo, but they must not have much resistance... The tweeter and woofer are wired to the speaker jack in parellel with no protection circuits or crossovers.

However one of my piezo tweeters blew! I read that piezo speakers don't need any protection such as a crossover or light bulb, or fuse. Is this true? I'm good with electronics... would it be a good idea to put something in there to protect the piezo tweeters? If so, what... a cap, a fuse, a light bulb?
Thank you all so much!!
