Protools fader recall problems

Post by Rushaa »

When I record something and put the faders up into position, finish my project and return later to it, the faders don't return to there position that's on screen. They jump a little but say at the bottom. Sometimes they jump back into place on smaller sessions.
I'm using DIGI 002 with the console. I'm running it on a Windows XP system. If some one could help I would appreciate it.

Sounds like a volume automation problem.

Have a look for the AUTO in the mix window on a fader and change it 2 off.

Read up about automation if this is new to you in the protools manual.

Are you sending any MIDI (i.e., HUI, KB controller) to Pro Tools?

Check the 'MIDI Devices' in PT. Maybe something got selected and is being received by PT.

Are there any 'colored' boxes/outlines within any of the channels that are having this problem? Check the 'Peripherals' section.

Other than that, it's a mystery.

You can always re-install Pro Tools.
