Filter as a reference file

Post by serged »

Hi,

I created a nice filter for a piece and would like to load this filter file (.mfl)as a reference file to make experiments on other wav files.

A X.mfl file is created as a filter from the X.wav file. When the X.mfl file is opened with Y.wav file his formal shape is not the same. You could say open the X_Eq.Wav file as a reference file but the shape is still not the same as the X.mfl file.

So how could I see the X.mfl file as a reference file without any alterations ?

thanks,

SergeD,

As you have discovered, a filter is specific to one track only. If you use the same filter on another track it generally doesn't match and is not optimal.

Basically, you can't use a filter on it's own as a reference. If you want X.mfl as a reference you should open x.wav and x.mfl as a reference. You need to specify both in the open reference dialog.

Regards,

Paavo.
