Silly question...

Post by Ged Leitch »

ok this is probably a silly question Earle, but here goes anyway.

When sculpting a mix to a reference using say, the "average" view i notice that although it may match in that view when i change to peak view it doesnt match.
Am i seriously overlooking something here? probably!

if so whats the best view to sculpt a mix to a reference?

(i'm bracing myself for numerous mocking chuckles)

You can't do an exact match of both. To have some independent control of peak overaverage requires that the track bne split up into different parts with different filters applied to each. This is something that will be part of future releases.

What I generally do, if I'm matching to a reference, is keep both peak and average traces and match them so that the degree of fit is about the same for both peak and average. However, I always listen to the match (if I'm using a playable reference) to confirm the similarity and make minor adjustments if necessary.

Regards,

Paavo.
