When I do Ctrl + W, switch to reference file, I hear no difference.
Do I have to stop playback first?
Does this switch (Ctrl + W) overlay a filter based on the reference track or
actually playback another WAV file i.e. song
Thanks
Terry
Ctrl + W
Terry,
What do you have loaded as a reference and what do you have loaded as the current track?
CTRL+W toggles between the current track and the reference but only if the reference file is playable. If you are using a .anl file as a reference then you can't toggle to reference (the function should be disabled). Is this the case for your example?
If you do have a playable reference then it should start playing it and suspend the playback of the track you're EQ'ing. You do not have to stop playback first. The difference should be obvious, particularly if the reference is an entirely different track to the current.

Paavo.

Thanks for the response.
I understand so far.
So, how do I:
1. convert a track to .anl (analize?)
2. how do I load a WAV file as a reference
The reference\open seems to default to anl and not allow me to choose other file types.
I did some searches in the help file but nothing came up.
Thanks
Terry

Question
Terry
Any wave file you load automatically creates a 3kb.anl file in the source directory (original directory the wave file came from). Of course you can also move the newly created .anl file to the c:\harbal\ref directory for future use.
Send me your phone number and the best time to call and I will call you and go over a few of the programs functions with you.

Any playable file that HarBal can play can be opened as the reference. In the Open Reference dialog click on the button with the ellipsis ("...") to the right of the source file entry field. This will open a File Open dialog box that will let you filter on wav files, among others.
