Though I have not done this yet for a home system, it seems that HB can be used in conjunction with a pair of reference mics,(flat) to find room nodes. In irregular rooms, the room node calculator program, at SAE.com states that they are impossible to calulate precisiely. Well HB can do this for any part of the room, using a known CD sound source. Compare the recorded response with the curve of the CD. Preferably a CD with many dynamics and timbres. It seems logical. I am going to try it soon to set up my 5.1 system.
