Har-Bal all tracks or final mix only?

Post by Susan G »

Hi-

I'm very new to Har-Bal. Do you folks typically use it to EQ each audio track individually, then again for the final mix, or is that not usually necessary? If there's a relevant thread you can point me to, that'd be great!

TIA-

I use it on individual tracks if necessary, but typically I wave parametric EQ presets that are starting points for EQing individual tracks. Generally I use Har-Bal just for the final mastering.

Hi Dan-

Ok, I'll just experiment some with what I'm working on currently.

Thanks! :D

I created a filter for your song which can be downloaded from
http://har-bal.com/members.php?a=l&dt=filter

There was only two parts that needed attention

1. There was a large peak in the 285hz region

2. I put a low shelf (Cut) at 52hz ...the heavy bass to the left of that sometimes just weighs the song down.

If you load the filter you will be able to see the exact changes by toggling the grey button (second to the left) on the bottom right hand side of Har-Bal

Cheers

Earle

BTW: Nice song!!

Hi Earle-

Thanks for listening and for the filter (cool!) and comments! That'll be a great learning exercise! I'll check it out next chance. I didn't really expect you to listen to the song, I just meant to add it to my signature, but I'm very grateful for your time & interest! :D

[OTOH, I suppose the point of linking your music to your sig is so folks can listen... ]

Thanks much again-

Check your email. I was experimenting with your song. Put it on a cd and listen to it now.

And isn't that filter sharing web tool just the grooviest

:: pats self on back ::

:D

The personal attention and support is one of the things that truly sets Har-Bal appart from the others. Lots of companies give lip service to support, Har-Bal goes WAY over and above the call of duty.

Kudos to Earle and Paavo.

Susan, I know you from another forum, don't i?
