mono file question...

Hey all... I'm still using the BETA. I tried to load a mono track (bass guitar) in Har-Bal and it would not load, visually on the grid, nor would it play. I'm using Nuendo and saving all files as Broadcast Wave's. Could this be the culprit or does Har-Bal read BW's ok? Or maybe I am just mistaken about the mono wave thing... I thought that the beta would do that???

A BWF file can only contain specified types of audio data, Linear PCM and MPEG coded. A WAVE file can contain a much wider range, many very specific to some software. BWF files are intended for use in radio and television production. The basic audio format is linear PCM, 16 bits, sampled at 48 kHz, which is the recommended audio format for production. Har-Bal
may not support Broadcast wave files. We will test and get back to you.

Test completed on Broadcast .wav files was successful. Tell us exactly how you are saving these files in Nuendo.

Michael,

If you've got beta 1 then mono file support isn't in there. Not that the feature wasn't coded but that I didn't include the correct atsdsp.dll in the beta 1 release so mono files won't work in that version.

Beta 2 will have the correct dll in it and should work fine. We're almost ready to post Beta 2 but I have one issue to sort out before that happens.

Regards,

Paavo.

there it is!
