Hi,
Congratulations on what appears to be a great product! I've just downloaded your 8bit demo version and was perturbed by the following. The decreasing of peaks often results in clipping. Is this a limitation of the 48db dynamic range of 8bit or is it an erratic over-compensation of the "automatic loudness compensation" process?

The demo version is 1.02. Is this the version that I will be getting if I take the plunge and purchase the product or is there an update in the pipeline?

The clipping you speak of after reducing the peaks is as you say a result of loudness compensation. Depending upon where the peak is and its relative intensity in the mix the overall gain may be boosted by more than the RMS drop in level caused by your edit (to maintain fixed perceived loudness).

If you were to purchase HarBal now you would receive version 1.02 but would also receive a free upgrade to version 1.5 when it is released. If you are really keen then you could also get a hold of the latest 1.5 beta though it hasn't been released yet pending resolution of a ASIO driver issue.
