ProTools Question

Hello,
When using PT, I hit the spacebar to play back audio, then use the down and up arrows to select the start and beginning of a clip. However, when I hit the spacebar again to stop playback of audio, my selection disappears. This just started happening to me. I rebooted, etc., but no luck. Any suggestions?
